Speaking of safety, you need to make sure you are prepared to have a safe sexual encounter, if things go that way. Protecting yourself from sexually transmitted infections is wise, but the importance of safe sex is even greater when you aren’t familiar with your partner’s sexual history.
Additionally, talking honestly about sex with your soon-to-be partner is a good idea. This will ensure that both of you are on the same page. Set up clearly defined boundaries so that both of you get what you want and neither of you do anything you dislike.
After the hook up, it may be slightly awkward if you want your partner to leave – or if they want to hightail it and you prefer they’d stay. The best bet is to try and minimize drama. If you would like some alone time, tell them in a straightforward and friendly manner.
